Abstract

Studies with insecticides like, phorate (CRF), thiamethoxam, profenofos, lambda-cyhalothrin, flufenoxuron; biopesticides viz., biobit, dispel; and botanicals viz., Vitex negundo, Neem oil, Datura sp., Chukrasia velutina against rice leaf folder Cnaphalocrocis medinalis (Guenee) showed that flufenoxuron and lambda-cyhalothrin effectively controlled leaf folder but recorded a low predator population i.e. rove and ground beetle population. In turn alternation of treatments particularly those of biobit + flufenoxuron, profenofos + biobit and lambdacyhalothrin + Biobit besides providing effective control of leaf folder and conserved its coleopteran predator.
