Abstract

The pyrrhocorid redbug genus Dindymus Stal (Hemiptera: Heteroptera) and the species D. lanius Stal have been redescribed. The species is quite distinct from the other species belonging to the same genus and can easily be distinguished on the basis of shape of head, pronotum, scutellum, hemelytra, black spot on membrane and distinct genitalia. The morphometries and illustrations of the taxonomically important characteristic features of the species are described for easy diagnosis. Bangalore, Coorg. Dehra Dun and Nilgiri Hills are new locations for D. lanius.
