Abstract

Carbofuran, chlorpyriphos and monocrotophos were found most effective against whorl maggot of rice. Application of insecticides in the nursery 5 days prior to transplanting was found better and resulted in higher'yield as compared to insecticide application at 44 date after transplanting. Benefit-cost ratio was highest i.e. 2.62 in nursery application of carbofuran.
