New records of host plants and natural enemies of Aphis citricola van der Goot (Aphididae: Homoptera) from Orissa, India

Abstract

A field survey conducted for host plants and natural enemies of Aphis citricola van der Goot (Aphididae: Homoptera) from the north eastern and mid central regions of Orissa comprising of six districts, such as Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Angul and Dhenkanal revealed 37 species of host plants under 37 genera and 20 families as new records of A. citricola. Four species of coccinellids (Coccinella septempunctata, Menochilus sexmaculatus, Pseudaspidimerus circumflexus and Pullus pyrocheilus), one species of chamaemyiid (Leucopis sp.), two species of syrphids (Metasyrphus confrator and Paragus serratus) and one species of hemerobiid (Micromus timidus) were new records from the colonies of the aphid species.
