Abstract

Studies made using sticky traps on the colour preference by alate sugarcane woolly aphid, Ceratovacuna lanigera Zehntner (Homoptera: Aphididae) revealed that, maximum number of aphid was attracted to yellow trap followed by green and red traps. Traps placed at an altitude of 1.2 m and 2.4 m attracted significantly highest number of adults in tarps facing the windward direction. While the traps placed in leeward direction attracted least number of aphids and there was no influence of altitude on trap catches.
