The age specific life tables for red spider mite, Oligonychus coffeae on two different types viz. the China type (AV-2) and the Assam type (TV-19), tea plant were constructed under laboratory conditions. The intrinsic rates of natural increase of O. coffeae in both types of tea plants increased manifold over the last three decades. Finite rate of increase of O. coffeae on the Assam type of tea leaves was 1.192 female/female/day and in case of the China type this value was 1.184 female/female/day.
