Abstract

Verbascum chinese (Linnaeus) and Verbascum thaspus (Linnaeus) of family Scrophulariaceae have been recorded as the larval food plants of Cucullia verbasci Linnaeus. The life history, gross morphology and duration of various life history stages of this species have been recorded. The larval and oviposition behaviour, and the chaetotaxy of last instar larva have also been studied in details.
