Abstract

Effect of IGRs on the biochemical components of the integument of Spodoptera was studied and lowest weight of chitin and protein content for 100 larvae was recorded in diafenthiuron 1.5 g/1 (0.821 g and 2.114 g) followed by lufenuron 1.5 ml/1 (0.943g and 2.176 g). The weight of lipids was high in diafenthiuron (0.721 g) followed by lufenuron (0.625 g). The chitin and crude protein contents decreased in the IGRs treated larvae of S. litura, which varied from 62.34 to 67.21 per cent and 4.94 to 7.65 per cent respectively. However the lipid content increased to an extent of 11.41 to 28.52 per cent.
