Effect of different herbicides (i.e. diquat, paraquat, atrazine, butachlor and 2, 4-D) was studied on growth, sporulation and germination of Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo) Vuillemin. Eight concentrations were used of which three concentrations i.e. 5000 ppm or 0.5%, 2500 ppm or 0.25% and 1000 ppm or 0.1% were higher than recommended dose (500 ppm or 0.05%) while four concentrations i.e. 300 or 0.03%, 250 or 0.025%, 150 or 0.015% and 100 ppm or 0.01% were lower than recommended (500 ppm) dose. Herbicides 2, 4-D was found to be compatible with Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo) Vuillemin as compared to other herbicides. However, none of the herbicides was of compatible with B. bassiana as its growth, sporulation and germination reduced by the 50% with test herbicides as compared to control.
