The okra and tomato fruits were extracted by acetone: water (3:1, v/v), okra seeds by hot and cold extraction using acetone-water (100:20 v/v) while in case of soils acetone-water (1:1. v/v), acetonitrile and single step extraction and clean up method were tried. Quantification was carried out using HPLC equipped with UV detector at 242 nm. Acetone: water (3:1, v/v) was found to be the good extraction solvent mixture for okra and tomato fruits. The soil samples were extracted and cleaned by single step process whereas okra seeds were extracted by Soxhlet method using acetone-water (100:20, v/v). Dichloromethane was found optimum as the partitioning solvent in case of okra and tomato fruits and okra seeds. Clean up by Florisil and elution by dichloromethane gave the best recoveries.
