Abstract
Studies on influence of environmental factors on the population fluctuations of aphid, Lipaphis erysimi showed that aphid incidence commenced from 3rd week of December and reached at its peak in 2nd to 3rd week of February. After this the population started decreasing and vanished in the end of February to 1st week of March. The peak aphid population was noticed when temperature ranged between 24.7–24.8°C (maximum) and 10.6°C (minimum) with relative humidity 83.6 to 94.7 per cent in morning and 40.0 to 67.3 per cent during evening hour of the day. Intermittent rain showed the conducive effect for aphid multiplication.
