The investigation on biometrics of H. armigera (Hubner) reared on pods of three gram cultivars viz., Virat, G-12 and BDN-9-3 revaled that the mean measurements of the head capsule width and larval body length, width and weight of H. armigera on Virat varied from 0.12 to 1.26 mm, 1.36 to 24.32 mm, 0.24 to 3.01 mm and 0.79 to 197.00 mg for I, II, III, IV, V and VI instar, respectively. The corresponding values on G-12 and BDN-9-3 ranged from 0.19 to 1.29 mm, 1.29 to 17.65 mm, 0.29 to 3.05 mm and 0.65 to 198.99 mg and 0.11 to 1.44 mm, 1.23 to 16.85 mm, 0.30 to 3.26 mm and 0.66 to 202.88 mg, respectively. The larvae of H. armigera passed through six instars on each of the gram cultivars tested under present investigation.
