Abstract

Implementation of window based insecticide resistance management (IRM) strategies on large scale reduced the incidence of sucking pests complex and American bollworm, and increased natural enemy fauna in IRM fields with less number of insecticide sprays than non IRM fields. The number of insecticide sprays in IRM fields were 7.54 compared to 12.52 sprays in non IRM fields with 43.87% reduction in cost of plant protection. Though there was no difference in terms of yield, the percent increase in net returns was 19.64% from IRM fields compared to non IRM fields where low cost plant protection measures were adopted.
