Studies on the effect of light (LL) and dark (DD) on larval pupation site preference (PPS) in different species of Drosophila, which occupy different sites for pupation revealed that the PSP variation between sites of a species analyzed at control, LL and DD were highly significant in all the species, except D.melanogaster on glass and media, D. rajasekari on cotton and D.malerkotliana on glass, media and cotton showed non-significant variation.
