All the intercrops registered significantly less incidence of early shoot borer and intensity of internode borer than sole crop of sugarcane. Among intercrops, sugarcane intercropped with Greengram registered less incidence of earlyshoot borer (4.15%) followed by sugarcane intercropped with blackgram(4.25%) and cowpea (4.85%) whereas in sole crop showed higher incidence of 16.35% was recorded. Similarly sugarcane intercropped with cowpea showed less intensity of internode borer (2.11%) compared to the sole crop (8.22%) besides recording highest yield (85.33 t/ha) compared to control (82.17 t/ha). Sugarcane intercropped with greengram gave higher juice-sucrose (18.99%) compared to the sole crop (15.80%).
