Abstract

The studies revealed that mulberry variety V-1 was found statistically superior in improving economic traits than the rest of the mulberry varieties. Silkworms reared on V-1 mulberry variety were found significantly superior in larval weight (43.28 g/10 mature larvae), single cocoon weight (1.930 g), single shell weight (0.412 g), shell ratio 21.37(%) and cocoon yield/10,000 larvae brushed (18.96 kg) among rest of the treatments. However, variety Kanva-2 was at par with V-1 in all treatments except shell ratio. Variety Mizosava showed lowest larval weight (33.80 g/10 mature larvae), single cocoon weight (1.526 g), single shell weight (0.302 g), yield/10,000 larvae brushed (15.500 kg) where as variety LMP was found lowest in shell ratio (19.20%).
