Studies on courtship behaviour of female Callosobruchus maculatus Fab. revealed that the number of egg laid by the female increased with increase in number of copulating male. The female laid maximum eggs (73.2) when copulated with 4 males as compared to single (24.5), two (34.4) and three (36.1) males, respectively. Again with the increase of host deprivation (8 days) the fecundity of female increased (42.40 eggs)
