Medicinal plant extracts a great determinant to economic potency of silk worm: Bombyx mori L.

The strain of CSR2 X CSR4 of Bombyx mori L. were reared on mulberry leaves treated with extracts of two medicinal plants Andrographis panciculata (whole plant without roots) and Plumbago zeylanica (roots). There were differences in cocoon weight, shell weight, pupal weight, shell ratio%, average filament length, average weight of filament, average denier of filament when compared with the control group.
