Exposure to both pyrethroids, cypermethrin and fenvalarate caused initial increase in the AChE enzyme at 1 hour followed by decrease up to 24 hours in the nervous system and leg muscle of cockroach. the decrease in AChE activity was more pronounced in brain region than other tissues of cockroach following exposure to either cyprmethrin or fenvalerate. the decrease in AChE was significantly high in the cercetomised cockroaches compared with intact cerci. Cypermethrin produced greater effect than fenvalrate.
