Jharkhand is a biodiversity hotspot owing to its topography and geographical features and is blessed with tropical zone dry and wet forests. the acridoid fauna of the concerned area has not been worked out till date and thereby the area was surveyed and acridoid fauna has been listed. Collection of 421 samples was worked out that comprised 41 species belonging to 28 genera of 10 subfamilies, 3 families and 4 tribes. Families Acrididae exhibits dominance with 19 species followed by Catantopidae with 15 species and Pyrgomorphidae with 6 species.
