the application of sub-lethal dose (0.6 μg/2 μl/insect) of carbaryl for a period of 60 days caused changes in the biochemical constituents in the male reproductive system of a heteropteran bug, Iphita limbata. the difference in total protein up to 15th day was not significant, thereafter the levels of total protein declined from 30th day onwards and significant reduction in the levels of total protein total free amino acids and total glucose was observed on 45th day (p < 0.05) and 60th day (p < 0.001) of treatment. similarly treated insects showed significant (p < 0.001) decrease of total free amino acids and total glucose on 45th and 60th days of treatment period.
