Abstract

Neemarin in three different concentrations 90 ppm, 60 ppm and 30 ppm and neem extract as 5%, 10% and 15% were mixed in artificial diets used for rearing H. armigera. neemarin was more effective at higher concentration i.e., 90 ppm where as it was least effective at lower concentration (30 ppm). The pre-pupal and pupal period decreased with the increase of neemarin and neem extract concentration. Longevity of both male and female decreased and was concentration dependent. Male longevity of H. armigera was recorded as 45.90 ± 0.79 and in case of female it was 48.15 ± 1.45 days. The fecundity of the insect was recorded as 497.50 ± 7.50 days.
