During the course of investigations chaffer beetles were found defoliating Grewia, Robinia and Bauhinia trees. Diorhabda lusca was found to be a serious pest of Celtis australis, sometimes even leading to complete defoliation. Along with chaffer beetles, Grewia optiva was found heavily damaged by Lygropia obrinusalis and Apoderus spp. Mimastra cyanura, Myllocerus cellulifer and Asiosilis spp. were also found feeding on the leaves of Grewia. Sap sucking bug Cyclopelta siccifolia was found to be a serious pest of Robinia pseudoacacia, which is being introduced as a component of agroforestry system in this area. Morus alba was found to be infested by Mimastra cyanura, Bagrada cruciferarum, mealy bugs and grass hoppers alongwith the chaffer beetles. Bauhinia variegata was damaged by a defoliating beetle Calasposoma semicostatum. Bark eating caterpillar Indarbella quadrinotata was also found associated with this tree.
