Abstract

Karyological investigations were carried out on adult males of four species of Staphylinidae beetles viz., Philonthus idiocerus Kr., Osorius punctipennis Fvl., Indoscitalinus anachoreta er. and Cryptobium bernhaueri cam. They possessed 2n = 36:17 + Xyp, 2n = 32:15 + Xyp, 2n = 28:13 + Xyp and 2n = 30:14 + Xyp respectively.
