Repellent and antifeedant activity of neem and amla against two stored grain pests viz. Tribolium castaneum and Trogoderma granarium

Abstract

Both petroleum ether and chloroform extract of A. indica showed maximum antifeedant activity against T. castaneum and T. granarium. The repellency (%) of E. officinalis against T. castaneum was maximum at 1% conc. after 3 hours of treatment (86.61%) with a mean PR of 66.66%. however 1% conc. of E. officinalis against T. granarium was least effective (5.33). E. officinalis gave best result at 2% conc. with a mean PR value of 77.33%.
