First report of Macotasa tortricoides (Walker) (Arctiidae: Lithosiinae) from India along with a key to species of the genus

Abstract

Macotasa tortricoides (Walker), a bornean endemic species (Holloway, 1982, 2001) is reported for the first time from India. In addition, morphotaxonomy of Indian species of Macotasa Moore i.e., M. orientalis (Hampson), M. tortricoides (Walker) & M. nubecula (Moore) and a dichotomous key, separately for males and females for all the known species of genus Macotasa Moore has been provided.
