Details of the biology of two Indian species namely Barioscapus cordiae (Mshl.) and Apotomorrhinus cribratus sch. studied by the author along with the information available on the biology of 46 other species has been reviewed. The salient features of their biology and their diverse host plants have been highlighted. The results show the subfamily shows great variation in the biological characteristics which might help a rethinking on the higher and lower classification of the subfamily Baridinae.
