Distribution of malarian vector: A case study in Pelabuhanratu Region, West Java, Indonesia

Abstract

Studies on Anopheles sp distribution in Pelabuhan Ratu were carried out to know brood site and its diversity. Sampling was done in sites such as lagoon, pond and swamp to collect larvae and adult anopheles mosquitoes. The larvae ware collected in daylight with a bailer while the adults were collected in the night with light trap between 8.00–03.00 pm. Result showed that the lagoon area was the best site for Anopheles sundaicus.A. barbirostis was the most abundant in the swamp. The abundance and diversity index of lagoon was the highest (1.8), followed by pond (1.7) and swam (1.4).
