Screening of jasmine, mango and mulberry varieties/cultivars/ecotypes/biotypes revealed that the mite infestation ranged from 0 to 100 per cent in jasmine, 60 to 80 per cent in mango and 10 to 100 per cent in mulberry and the mean mite population varied from 0.5 to 16 mites/leaf with a highest mean mite population of 16 mites/leaf in Jasminum auriculatum, 15 to 18.4 mites/bud in mango and 0.6 to 18.5 mites per bud in mulberry. Shannon diversity index revealed that highest number of mite species (17) and highest number of mites (41) were recorded in Eriophyes manilkarae at Botanical garden. The highest and lowest diversity index was recorded (2.39) in garden and (1.40) in Vedapatti, respectively.
