Extensive collections of Baetidae in the Western Ghats, Central India and North-East India resulted in new record of the genus Bungona and two species formerly described in Sri Lanka and Borneo viz., Bungona (Centroptella) soldani (Müller-Liebenau 1980) and Bungona (Chopralla) pusilla (Müller-Liebenau 1984) respectively, thereby providing geographic range extension from Sri Lanka and Borneo to India.
