Bio-efficacy and economics of a readymade mixed formulation and conventional insecticides against red pumpkin beetle and fruit fly infesting cucumber (Cucumis sativus) in Kullu valley of Himachal Pradesh

Abstract

It was revealed that spraying with carbaryl (Sevin 50WP) @ 1.5 g/L followed by cypermethrin (Cyperkill 10 EC) @ 0.75 ml/L mixed with 10 g of gur/L followed by combi DT (Deltamethrin + Triazophos) @1ml/L at the intervals of 15 days commencing from 21 days of emergence of crop, was found to be the most effective against bed pumpkin beetle and fruitfly. This treatment gave net additional returns of Rs. 103378.75 and net gain of Rs. 13.16 per rupee spent over control.
