Abstract

Number of trichomes, leaf thickness and leaf area in leaf, were found important biophysical traits in reducing leaf miner Liriomyza trifolii (Burgess) infestation in different genotypes. The leaf thickness was significantly more in the leaves of genotype, Vijayawada local and less in Arka Sumeet. The leaf area varied significantly across the screened ridge gourd genotypes among which Amoha genotype recorded broader leaves and Mudigere local recorded smaller leaves.
