First report of Crocidolomia binotalis (Zeller) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) as a serious pest of some Brassica vegetable crops in Kashmir

The study revealed the occurrence of cabbage leaf webber, Crocidolomia binotalis (Zeller) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) as one of the serious pests of Brassica oleracea var. capitata, B. o. var. botrytis, B. o. var. gongylodes, B. o. var. acephala and B. rapa. This constitutes first report of C. binotalis on Brassicaceae vegetable crops from Kashmir Valley. Some field observations related to the local distribution, host-plant range and nature & extent of damage in respect of C. binotalis on host brassicae crops, have also been recorded.
