Effectiveness of insecticides against rice yellow stem borer, Scirpophaga incertulas wlk.

The data on per cent dead hearts due to rice yellow stem borer in different insecticidal treatment were recorded on 3, 7 and 10 days after first and second spray revealed significant differences at each level. The minimum dead hearths were recorded in fipronil 0.3 G (T₂), followed by spinosad 45 SC (T₃). The other treatments viz., profenophos 50 EC (T₁) and cartap hydrochloride (T₄) were at par but showed significantly lower damage than control.
