Abstract

Twenty three rice cultures along with four rice varieties viz., ASD 16, CO 50, ADT 39 and TPS 3 and a susceptible check TN 1 were tested for their reaction to stem borer. Among the rice cultures, TP 09167 showed scale ‘1’ and ‘0’ during the three years in terms of white ear damage and rated as resistant entry. TP 09155 showed the reaction status of highly resistant, moderately resistant and resistant during 2013–14, 2014–15 and 2015–16, respectively. TP 08043, TP 09140, TP 10008 were rated as resistant entries for two years and moderately resistant for a year. The different genotypes TP 09167, TP 09155, TP 08043, TP 09140 and TP 10008 were identified as resistant entries and can be used further for breeding programme.
