Abstract

Twenty two species of ants belonging to four subfamilies and fourteen genera have been reported for the first time from Dumna Nature Park, Jabalpur. The formicidae species reported are Camponotus compressus, C. opaciventris, C. angusticollis, C. mitis, C. badius, Oecophylla smaragdina, Paratrechina longicornis, Lepisiota opaca, Polyrhachis exercita, Myrmicaria brunnea, Trichomyrmex criniceps, Solenopsis geminate, Pheidole spathifera, P. multidens, P. sharpi, Crematogaster brunnea, Crematogaster species, Dorylus orientalis, Bothroponera tesserinoda, Leptogenys lucidula, Tetraponera nitida and T. rufonigra.
