Abstract

Results revealed that toxicity of custard apple seed powder and cinnamon bark powder increased with an increase in dosage as well as an increase in the period of exposure to both the plant powders. Both the powders significantly reduced the number of rice weevil, Sitophilus oryzae adults. Amongst the two cinnamon powder was found more toxic than custard apple seed powder. The highest dosage (5%, w/w) showed more promise after 14 days and resulted in maximum mortality of S. oryzae.
