The study was conducted to determine the effect of yam seed (Pachyrizus erosus Urban) on the thrips feeding activity. The results showed that the crude extract and the fraction of yam seeds treated chili leaves had a significant effect on the feeding activity of thrips. The crude extract and fractionat of yam seed decreased the feeding activity of Thrips sp. on chili leaves. The concentration of crude extract @ 0.5% and 0.1% fraction of yam seeds is the best concentration in suppressing the feeding activity of Thrips sp. on chili leaves. The yam seed isolates has no significant effect in decreasing the feeding activity of Thrips sp. on chili leaves.
