Abstract

The damage due to bud borer (A. achrasella) was found round the year on the new buds/flowers with the peak activity during April (10.85–12.53%), May (13.42–14.10%) and June (11.35–12.97%) at peak flowering flush in sapota cv. Kalipatti. Regarding linear correlation of ecological factors and infestation during all three years of survey, bud borer damage had positive influenced due to preceding and current minimum temperature and evaporation during summer coincide with peak flowering phase of sapota. The regression equation was found significant with few ecological factors only like maximum temperature and their correlative factor of bright sunshine hrs and evaporation. Sapota bud borer peak infestation was associated with crop phenology which coincides with encouraging incident of summer season and peak flush of flowering phase under round the year incidence pattern.
