Abstract

In present study, six cotton varieties were observed for seasonal population dynamics of jassid. The lowest mean population of jassid per leaf was recorded in IUB-13 (0.27) and FH-598 showed highest population (0.36/leaf). Jassid infestation increased in the 4th week of June and exceeded threshold level during July. The month of July was most favorable for jassid increase and recorded its peak abundance. Correlation matrix revealed that population of jassid correlated positively with relative humidity, minimum temperature and rainfall but negative association was observed with maximum temperature and sunshine.
