Bee strength of the breeder colony affecting egg laying and hatchability in Cupkit and Karl Jenter apparatus was studied during spring season. Egg laying in 20 bee-frame colonies initiated earlier as compared to 10 and 15 bee-frame strength breeder colonies. However, the extent egg laying in Cupkit and Karl Jenter apparatus after 22 hours was at par with respective values of 98.48 and 98.21% in 20 bee-frame strength breeder colonies. Similarly, hatchability in Cupkit and Karl Jenter apparatus in 20 bee-frame colonies was at par with corresponding values of 84.24 and 89.59%.
