Diversity studies on insect pollinators of citrus flowers revealed 44 species of insects belonging to 5 orders and 16 families of class insecta. Of these, 15 belonged to order Hymenoptera, 13 to Diptera, 6 to Lepidoptera, 8 to Coleoptera and 2 to Hemiptera. Relative abundance studies on citrus crop indicated that among hymenopterans, Indian honeybee, Apis cerana (33.07%), was the most abundant insect visitor to this crop.
