Prevalence and Identification of ectoparasites in cattle in the villages of selected Districts of Karnataka

Abstract

A cross sectional study was conducted on 1260 livestock to identify the major ectoparasites and their infestation. Out of 1260 livestock 1051 were infested. Amongst the eight genera of ectoparasites identified R. sanguineus and R. annulatus dominated with 20.1% of infestation and Hematobia spp. with least infestation of 1.03%.
