Abstract

Effectiveness of some safer pest management modules was tested against the tomato pests. Natural components like neem cake, neem oil, mint oil, asafoetida, botanical extracts (garlic and hot pepper), vegetable oil, baking soda, acetylsalicyclic acid, live barrier cum trap crop (maize), Trichoderma viride, straw mulch and phytosanitation were incorporated into the modules. The components worked effectively to check the pest populations and their damages, and the modules were effective, cost-effective and safer to natural enemies and pollinators.
