Abstract

In this study, mtDNA sequence of the Egyptian bees was analysed using different analytical tools and various approaches for better understanding of the genetic characteristics of this subspecies. Public websites, programs, and mtDNA sequences of different bee subspecies were utilized in this study. The phylogenetic analysis showed a close relationship between Egyptian and Syrian bees. Also, similar pattern of fragments were obtained for these two subspecies using enzymatic digestion. Open reading frames, and other components were identified from the sequence. Moreover, orthologous gene clusters between the Egyptian bees and other subspecies were investigated. This study expands the knowledge about genetic characteristics of the Egyptian bees.
