Biologically safe methods such as the use of botanicals and other means like the irradiation of insects, are gaining increasing role in the control of various storage pests. The aim of the present study was to determine the effects of various radiations such as ultraviolet, microwave and infrared radiations on biochemical constituents of Tribolium castaneum (Herbst) Drastic decline in the biochemical composition was observed in the insect samples subjected to ultraviolet radiations, followed by microwave and infrared radiations. These results are encouraging and irradiation may be an effective measure in the control of T. castaneum.
