The myrmicine ant, Recurvidris recurvispinosa (Forel, 1890) is being reported for first time from Central India. The workers of R. recurvispinosa were collected from the leaf litter and on the floor near tree base at Gwalior and Jabalpur, respectively and taxonomically studied. A key to the workers of Indian species under this genus and distributional map of R. recurvispinosa in India is provided.
