Abstract

Some environmentally safe pest management modules were designed incorporating natural components like plant fractions, barrier and trap crop, biopesticide, straw mulch, phytosanitation and tested against the cucumber pests. The components effectively checked the growth and development of the important pests like fruit fly (5.46 -7.91% infested fruit), defoliators (0.08 -0.68 beetle/plant), white fly (0.08 -0.86/leaf) and their damages, and the modules were effective, offered comfortable benefit-cost ratio and safer to natural enemies and pollinators.
