Among insect pests that attack tobacco, the members of family noctuidae of order Lepidoptera are dominating ones. Field surveys were made to collect these noctuidae species from leaves or soil. They were kept in sampling bottles from leaves or soil. Larvae were reared in laboratory by providing natural diet. Three species were identified; viz., Spodoptera litura, Agrotis ipsilon and Plusia signata. Agrotis ipsilon was recorded as most harmful for tobacco plant.
