Abstract

Greater Wax moth (Galleria mellonella) and lesser wax moth (Achroia grisella F.) are destructive pests of apiculture and consequently specific pest causes great economic loss to beekeeping industries worldwide annually. Wax moth found almost all part of the world. In the recent year, synthetic chemicals are used to protect the bee comb from the pest infestation but the utilization of fumigation of chemicals cause greater risk to environment. Fumigations of harmful chemicals are harmful to bee population whereas green management through botanicals against the wax moth are comparatively safe to the honey bee colony, when applied at recommended level. The essential oil of neem, citronella, cinnamon, peppermint, clove and negramina reduce the wax moth population and interfere in normal reproduction of concerned pest.
